SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A motorist is in custody and multiple people are hurting following a hit-and-run wreck this evening.
Caddo 911 dispatch records show it happened at 7:38 p.m. at Fairfield at Stoner avenues.
A Mercury coupe was headed west at that intersection when it was struck by a Chevrolet pickup, according to Shreveport police.
The truck driver drove away but was found not too far from the accident site. He now is in custody and under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or some other drug, police said.
Those who were hurt in the wreck have been taken to University Health in Shreveport for treatment. Some of them have serious injuries; authorities said none appeared to be life-threatening.
