SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A building intended to become a crime fighting facility in the Queensboro community has been vandalized.  

Praise Temple has been working to restore the old Westwood Manor turn it into a boys' home to help empower young men.

Leaders at Praise Temple Baptist Church say thieves have targeted the facility over the last several months, stealing copper from the building. The thefts and vandalism have resulted in hundreds of dollars' worth of damage to the ceiling and duct work. 

Church leaders say they caught one of the thieves in action on Monday afternoon and called police. 

"We're staying focused on the vision and the plan to help young boys it may be a setback for us but it certainly won't knock us out," said Praise Temple BC Associate Pastor Corey Williams.

Church leaders say police are looking for two more suspects.
