Second Natchitoches Parish escapee captured, 1 still at large

NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) -

The second of three Natchitoches Parish Detention Center escapees has been captured over 1,000 miles away in Colorado.

Michael Elliot, 24, who escaped with 2 others on August 27, has been captured near Georgetown, Colorado by deputies with the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, Colorado, according to Natchitoches Parish Asst. Chief of Corrections Roger Henson.

Elliot was captured after deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the area of a lumber yard.

Elliot was serving time until 2019 for Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

In a statement released late Monday afternoon, Asst. Chief Henson said Elliot will be transported back to Natchitoches at a later date to face additional charges of Simple Escape in addition to any other charges that he may have committed while on the run. 
 
Escapee Willie E. Ethriedge, 34, was captured approximately 10 days ago in Portland, Oregon by members of the US Marshal's Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

Walshea Mitchell, 35, remains at large while Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies, continue to actively work along with the US Marshal Service and other law enforcement agencies following up on leads and tips to capture Mitchell.

"Sheriff Victor Jones extends his sincere thanks to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office along with the public who have been providing investigative tips to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office and other agencies during the past month," the statement said. 

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Walshea Mitchell is asked to contact the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office at 318-352-6432, 911, or your local law enforcement agency.

A reward is being offered for specific information leading to the arrest of Mitchell.
