Shreveport man caught with 4 pounds of marijuana, 12 firearms

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man is facing drugs and firearm charges after police say he was caught with approximately four pounds of marijuana, 12 firearms and $32,000 in cash.

55-year-old Darrell Ray Player Jr. has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and for illegally carrying weapons with a controlled substance.

Agents with the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Unit arrested Player after they received a tip about possible drug activity on North Colony Drive in Shreveport.

Their investigation led them to Player’s residence on the 6000 block of North Colony Drive where he was caught with the items.

Player was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

A trial date has not yet been announced.
