SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Just two days after donating thousands of pounds of pet supplies to Denham Springs in South Louisiana, a Shreveport animal rescue is at it again, this time collecting donations for St. Landry parish.

Mr. Kippers, an English Bull Terrier, inspired it all through his Facebook page

During normal circumstances, he is the face of a "Classic Kippers," a business that sells bow-ties to raise money for dog rescues.

But recently, Mr. Kippers has stepped into a new role of collecting pet supplies for flood victims under the name "Kippers' Express Flood Relief".

"We started that literally Wednesday of last week," said Amanda Clingan, who recorded videos of Mr. Kipper appearing to speak and ask for donations on social media.

In just a few short days, they collected a truck full of pet supplies. KSLA News 12 was there Tuesday as they headed south to deliver the donations to Denham Springs.

"It was pretty incredible we had 9,801 pounds of supplies almost 4-thousand of that was dog food alone," said Clingan.

While in Denham Springs, Clingan learned of a huge need at the St. Landry Animal Shelter.

"They have nothing, they have been devastated. They don't even have dog bowls, everything washed away, they are out of everything," said Clingan.

As soon as she returned to Shreveport, she had Mr. Kippers make another plea on Facebook.

They hope to have a repeat of their last donation drive.

"We are going to do it again, I just know we will, because people have been incredibly generous," said Clingan.

This time they are asking specifically for cleaning supplies, dog food, plastic shipping kennels, among other things (see full list below).

"They can just drive by and we can help unload it and be grateful for whatever they would like to bring," said Clingan and explains she plans to take the pet supplies down to St. Landry parish at the beginning of next week.

"I will see it down there so I know it is getting in the hands of the people who really need it," she said.
