The development of fog is most prevalent here in the ArkLaTex from late fall until early spring. There are a few different ways fog develops, but today we'll be talking about advection fog.
First, a surface, such as the ground, or a body of water needs to be cooler than the air. Warm, moist Gulf air overruns the surface.
From there the air nearest the ground is cooled.
This cool air condenses and ta-da becomes fog.
