Texas Senate approves open carry of handguns

The Texas Senate on Monday gave preliminary approval to making the Lone Star State the largest in the country to allow licensed open carry of handguns, casting the first major gun-rights vote of the session. Coming up on KSLA News 12 This Morning, we'll have more on this decision.

Three people were arrested and a small child was placed in state protective custody after a prostitution sting at a Shreveport motel. It happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of West Monkhouse Drive.

Last week's high waters have yet to recede in parts of Bossier Parish. Beginning today, crews will place sandbags on portions of the levee as a precautionary measure. 

Hundreds of people will gather today for the funeral of a deputy US marshal who was gunned down in Baton Rouge last week. Josie Wells, 27, of Mississippi, was killed in the line of duty while serving an arrest warrant.
