Some East Texas residents still without power

There are still some East Texas residents without power after winter weather hit the area over the last few days. According to SWEPCO's website, there are more than 1,600 customers still in the dark in Bowie County, Cass County, Gregg County and Morris County. KSLA News 12 will continue to monitor power outages throughout the day. Stay with us for the very latest.

Major interstates in Caddo and Bossier Parish remain closed for the fourth day. Coming up on KSLA News 12 This Morning, Reporter Nicolette Schleisman will explain to you which ones and why the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is suggesting that motorists use alternate routes for now.

Also on KSLA News 12 This Morning, a man is dead after being shot last night in Shreveport. It happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of Booker T. Washington Avenue. 

And a child is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street last night. It happened around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and Mansfield Road in South Shreveport.
