Former SPD detective's appeal for job back delayed amid suit against chief



A former Shreveport police detective is fighting for his job back amid a lawsuit against the police chief. The suit alleges Chief Willie Shaw retaliated against Det. Rodney Demery during his investigation into several firefighters in what became known as the "Scandal at Fire Station 8." Now, Demery is demanding the Civil Service Board hear his appeal, before the suit goes to court. Find out what happened on KSLA News 12 at 5.

The 307th RED HORSE Civil Engineering Squadron was notified today that it will be deactivated at the end of this fiscal year. Closing will mean a loss of more than 200 Air Force Reserve jobs and about 20 full-time civilian jobs.
