Shreveport police have arrested a 17-year-old who is accused of shooting a 14-year-old girl in the city's Queensborough neighborhood. It happened around 5:30 p.m. yesterday in the 3500 block of Sumner Street. Police say Carlton Jenkins accidentally shot the girl in the stomach after mishandling a gun.

A Monroe teacher's aide is recovering at University Health in Shreveport after he was knocked unconscious while trying to break up a fight among a group of teenage girls. The incident was caught on camera. Deputies are looking for the person responsible.
