CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Center Monday afternoon.

Kenneth Wayne Boyd, 40, of Shelbyville, Lateisha Clifton, 31, of San Augustine, are still being held in the Shelby County Jail. Both of them were charged with first-degree felony delivery of a controlled substance and Class A misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug.

No information was available on their bail amounts.

According to a press release, a Center Police officer stopped a vehicle driven by Boyd for speeding near the intersection of Hill Ave. and Shelbyville Street. Further investigation by the officer and his K-9 partner revealed that the two people in the vehicle were in possession of a large amount of mixed illegal Hydrocodone pills and a small amount of carrisprodal, and two digital scales.

Boyd and Clifton were arrested at the scene and transported to the Shelby County Jail.
