Webster Parish Sheriff's deputies are working on a possible homicide Wednesday night near Minden.
WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
Webster Parish deputies have released new information on the homicide they believe happened Sunday night.
Sheriff Gary Sexton said 18-year-old Omar Lott, whose body was found in woods off Walter Lyons Road near Minden, was one of three men who attempted to rob suspected drug dealer Murphy Lee Robertson, 18, of Minden, of money and narcotics. Deputies believe Robertson then shot and killed Lott.
Deputies arrested three people in connection with this incident. Robertson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set as $500,000.
J'Son Glenn Turk, 18, of Shreveport and a juvenile were arrested and charged with being accomplices to the attempted robbery. No bond has been set for them at this time.
Lott was not reported missing to authorities until his body was found Wednesday afternoon. Sexton said investigators were then told he had been missing since Sunday night.
Lott was shot several times. His body was sent to Little Rock for an autopsy. Sexton said investigators had the added challenge of body decomposition, since his body had been outside in the heat since Sunday.
Officials are waiting on results from pathologists.
Chief Deputy Bobby Igo said this is the first homicide this year in the parish, and outside of the City of Minden.
