A months-long investigation into the theft of items from a DeSoto Parish business has resulted in the recovery of some high-ticket items.

Detectives hauled in James Robert Arnold, 32 of Longview, Texas, after they found a stolen trailer and other reportedly stolen items on July 18 at his home.

On July 8, a trailer was reported stolen from TrailCo. The trailer was found by the Harrrison County Sheriff's Office, and detectives were given information on Arnold.

Arnold told deputies that he bought the stolen trailer for $1,500 in Mississippi, but admitted to stealing it after being told that surveillance video at TrailCo showed his vehicle on thepropertyy. Arnold left a damaged trailer near TrailCo and then stole one from the business, deputies said.

Detectives were later able to connect Arnold to other thefts in DeSoto Parish, including thefts of oil fieldequipmentt on June 24 from a well site on George Small Road. Those items included an Airman air compressor and a Texas Brag trailer, which combined are worth more than $11,000.

Arnold had sold that equipment in Richland Parish, deputies said.

Additionally, Arnold was linked to a theft sometime around June 22 from an oil well location in Frierson, Louisiana. Stolen items included a Magnum Products light tower worth more than $6,000 and a JLG forklift worth more than $90,000.

The forklift was later found by detectives in Richland Parish, but the light tower has not been recovered.
