A Springfield man has been arrested in connection to a shooting outside of a bank earlier this month.
According to Smokey Barn News, police have charged 22-year-old Ambers Deshawn Payne with criminal attempt to commit homicide and criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery.
Police say a woman was making a deposit at the U.S. Bank on Memorial Boulevard on Aug. 2 when a man crept up behind her in an apparent robbery attempt.
The woman's car was allegedly shot at, and two bullets struck the vehicle.
Police say they identified Payne as a suspect after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip.
According to Smokey Barn News, Payne was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and is being held without bond at the Robertson County detention facility in Springfield.
