Firefighters: Cause of Wrightsville Beach house fire undetermined

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) -

Firefighters say the cause of a house fire in Wrightsville Beach early Wednesday morning is undetermined.

The property located on Water Street suffered about $45,000 worth in structural damage.

When firefighters responded to the call about the fire around 3 a.m. they saw smoke and flames spitting from the home.

According to the Fire Marshall on scene, 90% of the damage is to the exterior of the home but there is internal damage to the garage. The majority of the external damage is to the chimney area of the home.

There are no reports of any injuries.

According to neighbors the home is a second residence for the homeowners who were not home at the time of the fire.
