BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge police recovered an unusual vehicle possibly connected to a drive-by shooting.

Someone called police to report seeing a man riding down the streets firing a gun. When police arrived in the north 48th Street area, officials found a 16-year old riding a stolen Vespa scooter.

Jeffery Culotta owns the stolen scooter and was happy to get it back.

"I'm sure she has a good story to tell," Cullota said. "Once police got on the scene they saw a guy on it and asked him about the scooter and he just dropped it."

Culotta thinks someone stole his scooter from his home after hot wiring it. The recovered scooter is no longer drivable and its owner is surprised it was picked to be used as a getaway car.

No one was hurt in the shooting.
