LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Two Lake Charles men were arrested Saturday night following a high-speed pursuit that started in Lake Charles and ended in Sulphur, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Joshua C. Davis, 19, and Germany D. Bellard, 17, were arrested on Ruth Street in Sulphur.

Myers said deputies attempted to stop a car that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 10 near Lakeshore Drive.

"The car matched the description of one that had been reported stolen," Myers said Monday in a news release. "During the chase, the car made several unsafe lane changes, exited on and off the interstate, ran stop signs and red lights, almost causing several collisions before eventually stopping after police used tire spikes."

Myers said the pursuit lasted about 20 minutes, and there were no injuries or accidents reported.

Davis, the driver, was charged with motor vehicle theft, illegal possession of stolen things, flight from an officer, reckless operation, expired driver's license and contempt of court. His bond was set at $135,000.

Bellard was charged with illegal possession of stolen things, contempt of court and misrepresentation during booking. Bond was pending.
