SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police have a DWI checkpoint scheduled for Friday night in East Shreveport.
The checkpoint will be from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Officers will be checking for impaired drivers and other violations that could possibly compromise the safety of other drivers on the road.
Police say the checkpoint is part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign and a collaborative effort between multiple agencies to emphasize driver safety. The checkpoint was funded by a Louisiana Highway Safety Commission grant as part of the continuing effort to help cut down on the number of impaired drivers in the area.
