SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A section of Highland Ave. was shut down by a 2-car wreck at Dalzell just after Noon on Friday, and the collision was caught on camera.
Police say it happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Highland. The vehicles were approaching the stop sign at Dalzell from opposite directions. SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines says the preliminary information available at the scene indicates that one of the drivers ran the stop sign.
A nearby homeowner captured the crash on her home security camera. The video appears to support the belief that the stop sign was ignored.
A passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to University Health with serious injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were also taken to the local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
That area of Highland Ave. has since reopened. No names have been released, and there is no word yet on whether any citations will be issued.
