TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

A standoff in Texarkana, Texas ended peacefully late Thursday night with the arrest of a local man.

It happened at a home in the 300 block of Blanton St. in the city's Beverly neighborhood. Police arrived shortly before 10 p.m., after getting at several 911 calls throughout the afternoon reporting gunfire in the neighborhood.

One neighbor who did not want to be identified says he heard as many as 20 shots the first time around, and several more fired in bursts at least 2 more times over a span of about 5 hours.

When officers arrived and tried to make contact with the man inside, he refused to come out. Knowing he was armed and that there were 2 other people inside with him, police surrounded the home and continued to talk to the man until he agreed to come out shortly after midnight.

There were no injuries. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody. He faces a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm within city limits. The 2 adults that were inside the home with him were questioned and released.
