ORLANDO (WESH/CNN) - Late Tuesday evening, Orlando Police Chief John Mina stood in front of TV cameras and delivered a bombshell.
The young woman killed during a confrontation at the vixen bar, 22-year-old Maria Godinez, was most likely killed by an officer's bullet.
"The preliminary indication is that during this situation a bullet was discharged from Officer Eduardo Sanguino's fire arm and fatally struck maria inside the establishment. The Orlando police department is committed to a full investigation to understand how this tragedy happened," Mina said.
Witnesses say a man who was kicked out of a downtown Orlando bar was pounding the door trying to get back in.
A man who works across the street says he called 911. Two officers from the bike unit arrived, along with their superior.
The man police shot, the suspect, has been identified as Kody Roach. He was critically wounded.
