SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The lights back are back on at Sam's Town and Eldorado casinos late Tuesday night, and downtown Shreveport is out of the dark after power was off for a brief time.

More than 5,000 power outages were reported earlier this evening around the ArkLaTex, though that number has fallen.

SWEPCO's outage map  now shows 1,758 outages in Caddo Parish and some in Titus and and Harrison counties in East Texas. The numbers of outages in Caddo Parish have climbed from earlier this evening.

KSLA News 12 has a call out to SWEPCO for further information on the Shreveport outages.

Several crews have been out working to restore service, but as of now there is no estimated time of restoration.

A SWEPCO official said storms blowing east from through Texas may be causing the black-outs. High winds were reported around Longview and Marshall, TX.

Quite a few power lines are down and SWEPCO is warning people to stay away from them. You can call SWEPCO at 1-888-218-3919 if you see a downed line.

KSLA News 12 will update you as we know more about the outages.
