DENVER, CO (FOX19) -

The Rockies capped off a five-run ninth inning with a three-run walk-off homer by former Reds' first round pick Drew Stubbs in a 10-9 win Sunday in game one of a doubleheader. With the loss, the Reds (61-62) have now lost four of their last five games.

Jay Bruce and Kris Negron each pounded home runs to help the Reds to a 7-3 lead through six innings. Cincinnati held a 9-5 lead entering the bottom of the ninth after a pair of RBI singles by Bruce and Brayan Pena, and that's when it all unraveled. Aroldis Chapman walked four batters in a row and was yanked from the game. J.J. Hoover then stepped in to salvage the damage, but after a sacrifice fly cut the deficit to two runs, Drew Stubbs sealed the Reds fate with a three-run walk-off blast to center.

"I don't think I can put it into words to be honest with you," said Reds manager Bryan Price. "The fact that I'm about six minutes removed from that ball leaving the yard, it's hard.  It was a very difficult loss to take."

J.J. Hoover (1-9) was credited with the loss. Mat Latos pitched five innings with eight hits, three earned runs and seven strikeouts.
