MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Alabama State University Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture will host a reception in Sunday to honor its supporters.
The eleventh annual Patrons and Donors Reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the National Center's headquarters, which is located at 1345 Carter Hill Rd. The event is free and open to the public.
The organization offers the opportunity for interested community groups, businesses and individuals to connect with and contribute to the National Center's mission through fundraising and volunteer activities.
Donors who have offered a material donation to the ASU Archives between Oct. 1, 2013 and July 2 will be recognized during the reception.
"As the National Center takes this opportunity to formally thank these donors, we continue to solicit other donations in order to maintain the Center's status as a living museum and civil rights clearinghouse for teaching and empowering future generations," said Dr. Janice Franklin, National Center director.
