(RNN) - Whatever you’re doing Wednesday around 10 p.m. ET, take a break and head to Twitter.

Michael Jackson’s new video premieres on Aug. 13 at twitter.com/michaeljackson.

The single, A Place with No Name, comes from Jackson’s posthumous album XSCAPE.

The song is Jackson’s twist on A Horse with No Name from 1972. Jackson recorded his version in 1998.

The Jackson estate promises more posthumous releases to come.

Paul McCartney adds Beatles flair to sci-fi video game’s soundtrack

The next big game by Halo creators Bungie will have a little taste of the Beatles in it.

Paul McCartney collaborated with Martin O’Donnell and Mike Salvatori on the soundtrack of sci-fi multiplayer shooter game, Destiny. The move may seem a bit out of character, but Sir Paul took it as a challenge.

“Paul’s one of these guys who just never seems to want to stop developing and moving, so we had a great meeting and started collaborating. And for two years we traded music back-and-forth, met at several studios. We did this session at Abbey Road. I’m really looking forward to getting that out for people to hear,” O’Donnell said in an interview with gaming magazine Edge.

The result was a 50-minute score that has been rumored to see a release before the game, which hits stores on Sept. 9. O’Donnell said McCartney even utilized a little old (and legendary) technology while collaborating.

“He brought out his old tape-loop machine - he said the last time he used it was on Sgt. Pepper. So he sent me an entire session where he was playing around with all these tape-loops. We were just thrilled. That [was] the same machine that was on Revolver,” O’Donnell said.

McCartney also created a theme song for the game, but there’s no word on the song’s title. It was recorded at Abbey Road using a 120-piece orchestra and will be released as a single after Destiny’s release, according to the New York Times.

Destiny will be released on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Sept. 9.

Speaking of celebrity-assisted video game soundtracks…

Pharrell Williams is continuing his powerhouse run by curating the 27-song soundtrack for upcoming basketball game, NBA 2K15.

Williams is only the third celebrity to do so. Lebron James chose the soundtrack for NBA 2K14 and Jay Z executive produced the soundtrack for NBA 2K13.

She and Him take on timeless hits in ‘Classics’

Last week She and Him, comprised of Zooey Deschanel (She) and M. Ward (Him), dropped a 44-second teaser video for their upcoming album featuring a cover of Carole King and Gerry Goffin’s Oh No Not My Baby. And that was all she (and he) wrote - until now.

The band took to Facebook on Tuesday to announce their new album, titled Classics, will be “an album of timeless standards.”

“We are incredibly excited to release a record of our favorite songs. It was a dream of ours to record these songs in a way that highlighted the brilliance of the songwriting and the beauty of their melodies. We had a wonderful time making the record and we hope people have a wonderful time listening to it,” Deschanel wrote.

We have to admit we’re incredibly excited too – any She and Him cover promises to be a good one.

Classics is the duo’s 13th album and will hit shelves this fall.

Thunderstruck banjos

Is an AC/DC song by any other genre still an AC/DC song?

While you ponder the depths of that question, we present to you Steve’n’Seagulls, a Finnish band that brought a stomp-clap, yee-haw kind of quality to the hard rock classic.

And finally …

An artist almost can’t release a song these days without an EDM remix. Apparently that applies to the animal kingdom as well.

Meow Mix’s trademark jingle goes to the rave in a new video posted on YouTube.

We’re not really sure what to do with it except appreciate it for the catnip-infused madness that it is.

For your favorite indie lover (read: EDM despiser), a “hipster orchestra” version is coming soon. We presume this includes lots of acoustic guitars and skinny jeans.
