2 arrested, 2 sought in beating of 63-year-old pizza delivery man

Two suspects are under arrest and two are at large in connection with the July beating of a 63-year-old pizza delivery man.

On July 1 just before 2 a.m., the victim was delivering a pizza to a home in the 1300 block of South Prieur Street when he was attacked and struck multiple times with a baseball bat. The victim was hospitalized and later released.

On Thursday, the NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad arrested 19-year-old Milton McCoy in the 2900 block of Dryades Street. Quinn Jones, 18, who was already in custody on charges of simple burglary and a probation violation, was rebooked for the beating.

Police are still looking for 19-year-old Daneisha Williams, and 21-year-old Christopher Beard.

Police said all four suspects face charges of attempted first-degree robbery and aggravated battery.

When McCoy was arrested, police said he also confessed to an Aug. 2 car theft in the 2800 block of Chestnut Street and a June 8 car burglary in the 800 block of Peniston Street. McCoy has previous arrests for disturbing the peace, simple assault, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and attachments.

Jones is currently on probation until February 2016 for simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.

Williams was previously arrested for theft and Beard was previously arrested for possession of stolen property. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
