Police investigating shooting in north Tyler

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler police are investigating a shooting that happened in north Tyler on Friday  morning.

Police say an teenage Hispanic girl showed up at Mother Frances Hospital with a gunshot wound. Police say the shooting happened at a home in the 700 block of East Oakwood Street, which is about three blocks north of downtown Tyler.

The victim underwent surgery on Friday afternoon and is now listed in critical condition. Her identity is being withheld. 

Tyler police say the incident is not a threat to the general public.

No one was detained at the home. Police are still investigating at the scene, which has been secured with crime scene tape.
