Family members say that Judge Charles Galloway Calhoun, Jr., passed away on Sunday, August 3d.During his career, Calhoun, who was 83, served as the District Attorney for Smith and Wood Counties, Assistant Texas Attorney General, and served three terms as state senator.After returning to Tyler, he was a district judge for almost 20 years. The memorial service for Judge Calhoun will be Thursday afternoon at 2 at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler. Donations may be made in his memory to PATH of East Texas. Copyright 2014 KLTV.
