A woman said she went into a local hospital for help and came out a victim of sexual abuse.

Adam Wright, 36, was supposed to be a trusted professional at Skyline Medical Center. He was a CT technician who had gone through a background check, the hospital spokesperson said.

But Friday night one patient had a different story. She said she was sexually assaulted during a private medical exam.

The 37-year-old woman told police she had a seizure and went to the medical center for a CT scan. Wright was her technician.

During the exam, the woman says Wright took her hand and put it in his pants, according to a police affidavit.

She told police she snatched her hand back and asked him what he was doing.

She said that Wright laughed at her and began to brag about his private parts.

When the woman got back to her hospital room, she said it continued and that Wright then showed her a picture of his genitals.

Wright was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

He told police he went to high school with the patient, but she said she doesn't know him.

"It find it kind of strange. We've been over to that hospital a lot, and everybody there is very courteous," said Kelley Zumwalt, who has 11 children who have been patients at the hospital.

Zumwalt said she was surprised to hear about the alleged incident.

"Every experience we've ever had at the hospital has been very dignified and very caring and very personal," she said.

Skyline Medical Center has released this statement: "The health, safety and welfare of our patients is always a top priority and abuse of any kind will not be tolerated. When we were made aware of this disturbing allegation, we immediately suspended the employee and began our own internal review. In addition, we are assisting authorities with their investigation."

Hospital spokesperson Stephanie Bowen said all of their employees go through background checks but would not tell Channel 4 if Wright had any previous complaints made against him.

Wright has no prior record besides a DUI from several years ago. He is out of jail on $5,000 bond.
