 YUNNAN PROVINCE, CHINA (CC TV/CNN) – A strong, deadly earthquake rocked southwest China Sunday.

Surveillance cameras showed people running for their lives.

The magnitude 6.1 quake struck Yunnan Province, according to the U.S. geological survey.

China’s Civil Affairs Ministry reports at least 175 people were killed and some 1,400 others injured.

According to state-run media, more than 40,000 homes were damaged or destroyed.
