Neighbors pitch in to share water during crisis

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

As Northwest Ohio goes through this water crisis, many people are pitching in to do what they can to help.

With many reports of people spiking prices on water throughout the area, Tom Niceley decided to roll out his 4000 gallon water tank truck to help out.

"Filling gallons of water, a buck a gallon helping them out," said Niceley. "They need water for coffee and for pets, pets to drink."

Niceley's water truck has seen a steady flow of residents and businesses filling up with fresh water.  His truck is parked in the River Place Shopping Center in Perrysburg. Niceley says he will be out there until the water runs out.

John Craig, president of Craig Transportation, is offering his trucks free of charge.

"I'm offering 1 or 2 trucks and trailers to go and pick up water for the city," said Craig, "deliver wherever it needs to be and take care of trying to get water back into the city as soon as possible."

Whether it's offering water or a truck, people in Northwest Ohio continue to step up in a big way.
