Police: 5 arrested for firing pellet gun at homeless men

Five people have been arrested for allegedly shooting at homeless people in the Central Business District with a pellet gun.

According to police, the three men and two women were riding around early Wednesday morning in a red Camaro firing off shots. Four homeless men were hit multiple times.

State troopers spotted the car near Decatur and Barracks. Inside they found two pistol pellet guns and a handgun.

Arrested were Casey Smith, Willie Johnson, Colisha Preston, John Schnider and Charvonda Nettles. Each was booked with simple battery.
