FISHER, LA (KSLA) -

Sabine Parish deputies have arrested a Zwolle man and charged him with the murder of a man whose remains were found in his burned down house earlier this month.

Major C. Jones, 27, has been charged with second degree murder in the case of James Paul Green, 50 of Fisher.

Green's body was found July 18 inside his home on 4L drive.

Deputies had been called to the scene late the night before due to a house fire. Early the next morning, the house was aflame again, and that's when deputies found Green's remains.

Green's car was missing, and was later found in Zwolle off of LA 120. Investigators said it showed evidence that someone had tried to set it on fire, and blood was found on the center console and around the passenger seat.

Preliminary autopsy results show that Green's death was not caused by the fire.

The case is still under investigation.
