Liberty Eylau woman killed in ETX house fire

BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - Fire broke out late Tuesday night at a mobile home in Bowie County, TX, leaving one person dead and another injured.

The fire started around 10 p.m. in the 8300 block of S. Buchanan Road in Liberty Eylau.

Fire crews say they found two people outside when they arrived. One of the victims told firefighters that his wife was still in the home. The woman, identified as 57-year-old Darla Ann Myers, died from her injuries.

Gary Courtney with the Liberty Eylau Fire Department said one man was injured, but was able to escape. He was treated on the scene.

Myers' body has been taken to Dallas for an autopsy. Fire Investigators say the home is destroyed, and no foul play is suspected. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
