SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

In an effort to boost their investigation, Sabine Parish deputies are now offering a large reward for information about the murder of a man whose remains were found earlier this month after his house went up in flames.

The body of James Paul Green, 49, was found in the kitchen area of his charred home on 4L Drive in Fisher on July 18, the morning after firefighters were called there to put out a blaze that left it heavily damaged.

The body was found after the flames flared up again. His car was missing, and was later found in Zwolle off of LA 120. Investigators said it showed evidence that someone had tried to set it on fire, and blood was found on the center console and around the passenger seat.

According to Sabine Parish Warden Joe Dewil, preliminary autopsy results indicate Green's death was not caused by the fire.
