CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Several drug busts over the last several days have netted a half dozen arrests in Caddo Parish and the City of Shreveport.

Sheriff's deputies and police put six people behind bars in connection with four separate incidents beginning with the July 24 nabbing of a marijuana dealer in the Ingleside neighborhood.

Members of the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotic Unit were patrolling in that area and saw a drug deal in progress between a pedestrian and someone in a vehicle. Patrol stopped the suspects in the 2700 block of Desoto Street and found about one-quarter pound of marijuana in the vehicle, ready for distribution.

Officers arrested the driver, Carl Devers, 22, and charged him with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Also that day, agents investigated the Allendale neighborhood following citizen complaints and found a large amount of crack and powder cocaine. They also found a firearm hidden in a pit bull kennel guarded by five dogs in the 1700 block of Looney Street.

Agents also found about 39 grams of cocaine and $3,800 in cash, a handgun and two extended magazines. They arrested Johnny Robinson, 31; his brother Jonathan Robinson, 32; and Germany Smith, 27. All have been charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

On July 25, agents arrested Benny Brinkley, 59, in connection with items found in the 900 block of Barron Road in South Caddo Parish. There, they found about 4 grams of methamphetamine ice and a handgun. Brinkley has been charged with possession of schedule II meth and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He's being held at CCC.

That same day, agents arrested Timothy Allen, 44, and charged him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, agents found 233 grams of high-grade marijuana hidden in the attic of a home in the 4000 block of Calderwood in North Caddo Parish.
