SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - More than a dozen fire trucks were needed to put out a house fire in Shreveport's Allendale neighborhood Saturday afternoon that sent one firefighter to the hospital.

Firefighters were called just before 4 p.m. to a house in the 1700 block of Anna Street. When firefighters arrived, the fire had already consumed half of the house.

Chief Bubba Dunn says one firefighter overheated and was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Dunn says it took about an hour to put the fire out.

Investigators say the fire is suspicious because of no utilities being on in the vacant house. The fire remains under investigation.
