SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A two-year-long undercover sting has led to the arrests of six people since the beginning of the month, in several North Louisiana parishes.

These six are in federal custody, indicted for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, firearms violations, and other drug-related charges. Investigators seized about half a million dollars in cash during the July 1 arrests, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

"The real winners in this, to me, are the people, the citizens, because it is harder now for these people to go out and find these drugs," said Mike Stone, Lincoln Parish Sheriff, in a formal statement.

Locked up right now on 24 counts are: Quincy D. Hoover and Quwanda Forest, both of Natchez; Jesse Thomas of Haynesville; Rodney Raymond of Natchitoches; and Shannon Jenkins and Carlos Jenkins of Ruston.

Investigators said one person is still on the run.

The investigation, called "Operation Pit Stop," ran from June 2012 to July 2014, and the defendants allegedly conspired to distribute cocaine in Lincoln, Claiborne, Natchitoches, Sabine, DeSoto, Bossier and Caddo parishes. The USAO said the drugs came from Houston and Dallas.

During the sting, several drug dealers sold cocaine powder and crack cocaine to law enforcement, the USAO said.

Officers also seized firearms and 16 pounds of marijuana among other items.
