SPD: Man arrested in shooting that injured woman in West Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection to a shooting that injured a woman in West Shreveport.

Shreveport police say just before 1 p.m. 18-year-old Deangelo Jackson was arrested after he was questioned about a shooting on June 26th. Police say 23-year-old Jessica Bernard was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her stomach at the Blue Ridge mobile home park. Police say Bernard had been shot while sitting in a car at an apartment complex in the 6700 block of Buncombe Road. Bernard is continuing to recover from her injuries.


Jackson is charged with illegal use of a weapon.


A second man, Eudarrius Gooden was arrested back on July 12th by Caddo Parish Sheriffs deputies on an outstanding warrant for aggravated second degree battery for his alleged role in the shooting.  Gooden remains at the Caddo Correctional Center.
