Vivian man charged for stealing hundreds of dollars worth of meat

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Vivian man is behind bars Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly packed a shopping cart full of meat and walked out of a Minden store without paying for it.

Michael Jacobs, 51, was stopped by a Walmart employee who spied him loading a variety of meat products into a tub inside a buggy. The employee saw Jacobs leave the store with more than $600 worth of stolen meat.

Police officers were alerted and caught Jacobs walking away from the store without the cart of meat.

He is charged with theft of goods over $500, a felony. This is the 14th time Jacobs has been arrested on the same charge.
