The Brewers scored three runs on two misjudged fly balls in
the outfield by Chris Heisey and the Reds dropped their fourth straight game
5-2 in Milwaukee.
Ryan Braun hit a two-run double that sailed over Heisey's
head after he started in on the ball and later lost a Carlos Gomez warning
track fly ball in the Miller Park lights to cost the Reds another run.
"Guys are playing hard, just not terribly well right now,"
said Price after the game. "The guys are playing hard, but we need to have a
shut-down start and play better defense to get ourselves a win."
The loss falls on starting pitcher Mat Latos who allowed
four earned runs in seven innings. His season record drops to 2-2.
The Reds offense only produced two runs on five hits. Billy
Hamilton hit his 6th home run of the season. Hamilton and Skip
Schumaker combined for four of the Reds' five hits.
Bryan Price was ejected for arguing with the umpire after a
called third strike on Devin Mesoraco.
The Reds drop to 51-48 on the season and continue their
three-game series with the Brewers Tuesday at Miller Park.
