SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man who was seriously injured near Shreveport's Twelve Oaks subdivision Friday after his motorcycle collided with a car has died.

Police say the wreck happened at 3:43 p.m. as a Scion TC was leaving the subdivision near the intersection of E. Flournoy Lucas Road and Ashley River Road. Police believe the car struck the motorcyclist as he traveled eastbound on E. Flournoy Lucas Road.

The impact of the accident threw the motorcyclist off his Honda CBR, where he was stuck by a Lexus SUV.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to University Health in Shreveport where he died from his injuries. E. Flournoy Lucas Road is closed to all traffic near that intersection.

There is no word on if either of the drivers were impaired. The motorcyclist's name is not being released until his family is notified.
