SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A 60-year-old man was taken to the hospital for evaluation Tuesday afternoon, after police say he held a family member hostage at a home in Shreveport's Lakeside neighborhood.
It happened just before 1 p.m. on Looney Street and lasted a couple of hours. The man, who hasn't been identified by police at this point, was armed with a handgun when he threatened a member of his family. He eventually let the relative go. No one was injured.
Police say the man is diabetic and didn't take his insulin. No other details are available at this time.
