LINCOLN PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Sheriff deputies are on scene assisting the Ruston Fire Department as they battle a tank fire on a well site in Lincoln Parish.

Authorities say the fire started Thursday afternoon at the site, which is near the intersection of Louisiana 563 and Sunshine Road, about three miles north of Interstate 20 in Simsboro.

Firefighters will remain on the scene until it is out or burns out. It's not yet known how the tank caught fire.

Deputies say they have been helping out with traffic control. No injuries have been reported and no evacuations have been ordered.

Authorities don't expect to close any roads, but the road to the well has been blocked off. This is a developing story, so stay with KSLA News 12 for the latest.
