SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A fugitive is in jail after police say he seriously injured a Shreveport man in a shooting last month.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Ladarius Williams just after 9 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Poland Street. He is accused of shooting 59-year-old Eddie George outside of a Shreveport store.

Officers say they responded to the shooting in the 300 block of Pierre Avenue early last month. They discovered George suffering from several gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to University Health Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives believe George was walking out of the store when he was approached by Williams, who attempted to rob him. During the course of the robbery, Williams fired several shots at George before fleeing the scene on foot.

Williams was taken to Shreveport City Jail where he was booked on attempted first-degree murder and an outstanding warrant.
