Fire damages big rig, trailer on I-20 near Bossier City

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -  An 18-wheeler caught fire on I-20 just outside of Bossier City late Wednesday night, temporarily closing one lane of east-bound traffic while firefighters fought the flames.

It happened near mile marker 29 around 10:15 p.m. Fire District 1, with help from the Bossier City Fire Department responded to the fire, which destroyed the rig and damaged the trailer. Louisiana State Police say the trailer was loaded with fencing supplies. 

There were no injuries, and there is no word yet on what may have caused the fire. 

The incident forced the closure of one lane of I-20 four about an hour and half. The interstate has since reopened.
