TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Sometimes at important events you get a visitor that disrupts the flow of events. Maybe it’s an uninvited guest at a wedding with an attitude that shifts attention from the blushing bride, and maybe the wedding photographer is on his game enough to get a shot of the turning tide.

Brittany Carleton and her husband Jon decided to have their wedding pictures taken by Noel Martin at Faulkner Park in Tyler. Everything was going as planned when an uninvited guest reared its ugly head.

“Uh, it was crazy,” Brittany said.

“It was right behind you wasn’t it?”

“It was, it was right behind me,” Brittany agreed.

“Well, we were sitting there and we had heard a lot of loud thumping, and we thought it was just somebody with good base in their car, and my buddy Jack grabbed me and turned me around,” Jon explained.

“I thought that was really brave of you to stand your ground and get that shot,” I said to photographer Noel.

“Hey, you know, as a photographer you have to do what you have to do to get the shot. Sometimes that throws you in some dangerous situations, and like that one, sometimes you just have to stand still and get the shot and hope you live to tell the tale,” Noel stated.

Funny he should mention “tail” since the uninvited guest had one.

Yes, the guest from the past was a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

“We just turned around and started running. My buddy Austin swept up his wife and we just took off from there,” recalled Jon.

“I just stood still and he just walked right past me like I wasn’t even standing there,” Noel revealed.

I remember that from the movies; just stay very still and it will move on. And there was no trace of a dinosaur except the picture Noel was quick enough to snap. Oddly enough, this is the only picture Brittany and Jon have seen.

“We just got it yesterday. That’s the only picture I’ve gotten,” Brittany revealed.

“That’s the only one that’s free,” I offered.

“Right,” Brittany laughed.

Suddenly I sensed the interview was over, and Noel had apparently set up a camera out there somewhere to capture it.

There must be something in the water at Faulkner Park.
