SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Detectives are working to find and arrest the person responsible for an overnight shooting in west Shreveport that injured a local man.

Just after 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Shreveport police officers were called to University Health Shreveport, where a man had shown up with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Jamarcia Houston, 20, told police that someone he knows shot at him during an argument outside of a home on Parkridge Street. Authorities believe shrapnel from the projectile grazed the victim’s leg.

Investigators were notified and, based on information and evidence gathered during the early stages of their ongoing inquiry, believe they have identified the man who shot at Houston and are working to obtain a warrant for his arrest. So far, that suspect's name has not been released.

Police are asking that anyone with any information regarding this shooting is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
