TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) - Police in Texarkana, TX say they have made an arrest in the robbery of a local bank early Tuesday afternoon.

Robert Russell, 44, is charged with robbery. Police say they immediately began receiving tips after releasing surveillance photos to local media. Those tips led investigators to a business in the 900 block of Walton Dr., where he was found there in possession of "a couple of items linking him to the robbery." Police have not said what those items are.

Russell was also wanted on some unrelated warrants, police say.

It happened around 12:45 p.m. at the Capitol One at 4805 Texas Blvd. Police say the man went into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. None of the witnesses reported seeing a weapon.

Once the teller handed over the money, the man left the building. Police aren't sure yet whether he left on foot or in a vehicle.

Police say there were customers inside the bank at the time, but none were aware of what happened until it was over. No one was hurt.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Texarkana Police Department at 903-798-3116 or CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP (7867).
