SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police are looking for a local man in connection with a shots fired incident last month.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on June 24, 2014, officers were called to the 2100 block of Laurel Street for a report of shots being fired in the area. when they arrived at the scene, they gathered information indicating that a group of male subjects fired multiple rounds from handguns at a man driving a white SUV. Several shell casings were found and collected by officers at the scene.
Now, police say their violent crimes investigators have since gathered information and evidence linking James Merritt to the crime.
Authorities believe Merritt, 41, was one of the men shooting at the victim. A warrant for his arrest has been issued charging him with a single count of illegal use of a weapon. Bond has been set at $150,000.
